[Routine Monitoring and Routing Maintenance Items]
Routine monitoring items cover checking device status, system alarms, system power consumption, and service resource status (including disk domain status, storage pool status, LUN status, data protection feature status, host status, and host port status), and monitoring real-time device performance.
Routine maintenance items cover checking device operating environments (such as equipment rooms and internal bay environments), device indicators (including SVPs, data switches, engines, and disk enclosures), device status, and powering on and off storage devices (including powering on and off interface modules and storage devices), restarting devices, powering off devices in emergency, and then powering on the devices.
You can use the GUI or CLI to complete the preceding monitoring and maintenance tasks, and the GUI-based DeviceManager is recommended. If you choose to use the CLI, see:

[Storage Management Tools]
You can use the Cloud Service and Toolkit to manage routine maintenance and implement automatic alarm reporting upon faults.

[InfraControl]
The InfraControl is a network management system designed for enterprise data centers. Huawei develops the InfraControl to centrally manage storage resources in a storage area network (SAN) environment. The InfraControl can help you implement centralized operation and maintenance (O&M) and analysis optimization of the IT infrastructure.
The InfraControl monitors and manages the storage, servers, and switches from multiple vendors, as listed below:

[Preventive Maintenance]
The preventive maintenance is one of the essential operations to ensure healthy storage system operation. To greatly improve inspection efficiency, you can use the Toolkit to inspect the OceanStor 18000 series.

[Information Collection]
Information collection is a common operation used in routine maintenance and inspection. Effective information collection helps you identify and locate faults.
You are advised to use the Toolkit or the DeviceManager to collect storage system information such as running data, system logs, fault information, and event information.
You can use the Toolkit or ***yzeLogTool to ***yze storage system logs.
Comparatively, the DeviceManager does not provide automatic analysis but the ***yzeLogTool does. Therefore, you need to manually search for key words to locate faults when using the DeviceManager.

[Event Information Introduction]
Through event information on the DeviceManager, you can learn about the event definition, event level, impact on the system, possible causes, and handling procedure.
