The FusionCube product can be used in two scenarios, infrastructure virtualization and database infrastructure.

When used in the database infrastructure scenario, the FusionCube system does not perform any service provisioning task.

When used in the infrastructure virtualization scenario, the FusionCube system performs service provisioning tasks. The service provisioning method varies depending on the FusionCube versions. For details about how to provision services, see one of the following documents based on the FusionCube version:

FusionCubeV100R002C01 Service Provisioning

FusionCube uses an application instance template to create multiple VMs in a rapid manner on the FusionManager portal, thereby providing an application instance for users.

For details about how to deploy an application instance template, see the  FusionCube V100R002C01 Infrastructure Virtualization Service Management.

FusionCubeV100R002C02 Service Provisioning

In FusionCube V100R002C02, service provisioning is performed by both a system administrator and a service administrator. A system administrator allocates resources to organizations based on their resource demand and creates a general template used by service administrators to perform service provisioning after adding and configuring the resources.

A service administrator can provision the following services using the resources of the organization to which the service administrator belongs:

  • A VM is a software computer that functions like a physical computer, running an operating system (OS) and applications.
  • An application instance is a collection of virtual servers and service software that provides specific services for users, for example, SQL Server, SharePoint, CRM/ERP, and Notes.

For details about how to configure resources as a system administrator, see "Part Three:Allocating and Using Resources" in the FusionCube V100R002C02 Infrastructure Virtualization System Administrator Guide.

For details about how to provision services as a service administrator, see "Part Two: Service Provisioning" in the FusionCube V100R002C02 Infrastructure Virtualization Service Administrator Guide.
