Hello,

Today, I would like to share with you this topic which Introduce the principles and reference information of wavelength planning.

Principle 1: Prioritize the allocation of long-wavelength resources.

The transmission network is generally constructed in steps. The initial wavelength resources are relatively small, and long wavelengths are selected. On the one hand, the performance of long wavelength channels is better than that of short wavelength channels when the wavenumber is small. The power budget is more stable and not easily affected.

Principle 2: Allocate the same wavelength resources for protection services, distributed services, and other services that do not have section conflicts.

Principle 3: When allocating wavelength resources to services, preferentially select service groups with limited wavelength allocation for wavelength allocation.

A service group is composed of a group of services whose routes are mutually exclusive, and protection or loop services can be regarded as a service group. Preferentially assign service groups with difficult wavelength assignment, which can reduce the degree of wavelength congestion later.

For on-board 1 + 1 protection and client-side 1 + 1 protection, the sender and receiver recommend that the same wavelength resource be allocated to ensure that the same wavelength resource on the entire ring is occupied by the service. If different wavelength resources are allocated for the protected service, part of the wavelength resources will be idle in both the long path and the short path, and other services may easily have wavelength conflicts with the service when allocating wavelength resources.

Principle 4: For the allocation of wavelength resources with relay services, the principle is to preferentially allocate the same wavelength resources to the front and rear sections with relay services. Because the wavelength services before and after the relay are actually mutually exclusive routes. If different wavelength resources are occupied, the wavelength assignment of other services may be conflicted.
