Note: Resources marked by * are unavailable unless you log in as an authorized user.

The following commands or operations may cause service interruption. Use them with caution.

Part I: Highly Risky Commands

Command

Function

Scenario

Risk

Cluster reboot all

Reboot the system

System reboot

The system is rebooted, and services are interrupted.

Cluster shutdown all

Shut Down System

Shut Down System

The system is shut down, and services are interrupted.

Cifs server stop

Disable CIFS services

Disable CIFS services

CIFS services are interrupted.

Nfs server stop

Disable NFS services

Disable NFS services

NFS services are interrupted.

NFS share add

Add NFS share

Add NFS share

When existing share is modified, it needs to get offline first before getting online again, causing intermittent disconnection of services.

ftp server stop

Disable FTP services

Disable FTP services

FTP services are interrupted.

Storage fs offline

Get file system offline

A certain file system gets offline

A file system is mistakenly unmounted, and services on this file system are interrupted.

Nfs\cifs share delete…

Cancel a share

Delete unused share

A share is mistakenly deleted, and services dependent on this share are interrupted.

Network Ip addr modify

Modify an existing IP address

Modify an existing IP address

Modifying the IP address that the client is using causes service interruption.

Network  Ip addr del

Delete an IP address

Delete an IP address

Deleting the IP address that the client is using causes service interruption.

Network  ip addr online

Get IP address online on a certain node

IP address drift is required, or an offline IP address needs to get online.

Drifting the IP address that the client is using causes intermittent disconnection of services.

Network  ip route del

Delete a Route

Delete a Route

Services are interrupted.

Network  ip link set

Set the connection status of a network adapter

Set the connection status of a network adapter

The connection is down, and services are interrupted.

Network ip bond remove

Delete a Bonding

Delete a Bonding

Services are intermittently disconnected.

Storage fs destroy

Delete a file system

Delete a file system

Data is permanently deleted.

Storage fs addmirror

Add a file system mirror

Add a file system mirror

System performance is occupied.

fencing off

Disable I/O protection

Disable I/O protection

Split-brain may occur.

Fencing on

Enable I/O protection

Enable I/O protection

Services are interrupted during the enabling process.

option modify tunefstab write_throttle

Modify write cache

Modify write cache

System performance is affected. The system may be restarted if the modification is not restricted.

All commands under the Support mode

Senior functions, for debugging

For debugging

You must ask for R&D engineers' confirmation when running commands under Support mode.

Part II: Highly Risky Operations

Routine Maintenance

Power off the array before the engine is powered off.

You need to recover the file system. The data may be lost permanently.

Hold down the power-off button or remove the power cable.

The system may be damaged and cannot be started.

Power on the array before the engine is powered on.

Startup fails, and services are unavailable. You need to restart the engine.

Forget to turn on the heartbeat switch power or connect the heartbeat cable during system power-on.

The node cannot join the cluster.

Forget to turn on the optical fiber switch between the engine and array or connect the optical fiber between the engine and array during system power-on.

Startup fails, and services are unavailable.

Disconnect the priveth0 heartbeat network cable during service running.

Share services in CIFS CTDB mode are interrupted.

Disconnect two heartbeat cables of a node during service running.

Coredump occurs on some nodes, and services are intermittently disconnected during switchover.

Disconnect the service network cable during service running.

Services are intermittently disconnected during switchover.

Remove and insert optical fiber repeatedly in short time.

Remove and insert optical fiber at an interval of 10s. Otherwise, the file system may get offline.

Configure fencing using the SSH instead of the serial port.

Commands may be interrupted during SSH operation.

Configure network port boding using the SSH.

Commands may be interrupted during SSH operation.

Create snapshots during busy hours.

Creating snapshots will interrupt I/Os. If there are plenty of files, I/O hangs for up to 3 minutes.

Restart a node during mirror synchronization.

This node may fail to join the cluster.

Expand a file system online.

Expansion during service running is time consuming, affecting system performance.

Expand a file system with more than 60 million files

The expansion may fail.

Expand a file system with usage exceeding 80%.

Temporary space is occupied during expansion. The remaining space is small, and the expansion may fail. You are advised to keep the file system usage under 80%.

Expand a file system by over 30 TB.

It is a probability that the file system performance fluctuates.

Upgrade

Upgrade a system by reinstalling it.

You must follow the procedure strictly. Otherwise, the configuration information may be lost.

Upgrade a system with service running.

You must follow the procedure strictly. Service continuity may be affected during the upgrade process.

Migration

After migration, change the engine connection sequence to the Fiber Channel switch and array.

Generally, Fiber Channel switches have zone division. Incorrectly cable connection may cause route disorder, reducing system reliability.
