l To implement remote replication on a LUN, reserve the following space in the storage pool of the LUN:
Ø For synchronous remote replication, reserve 0.5% of the LUN capacity in the storage pool to save metadata.
Ø For asynchronous remote replication, reserve 30.5% of the LUN capacity in the storage pool. The reserved space consists of two parts. One part accounts for about 0.5% and it is used to save metadata. The other part (30%) is used for pre-write data copy.
l If you want to apply multiple software features such as HyperReplication, HyperClone, HyperMirror, HyperSnap, HyperMetro, and SmartMigration to a LUN:
Ø For synchronous remote replication, reserve 1% of the LUN capacity in the storage pool to save metadata.
Ø For asynchronous remote replication, reserve 31% of the LUN capacity in the storage pool. The reserved space consists of two parts. One part accounts for about 1% and it is used to save metadata. The other part (30%) is used for pre-write data copy.
For reserved space planning, see the Remote Replication Feature Guide of the required version. For example, OceanStor 5300 V3&5500 V3&5600 V3&5800 V3&6800 V3 Storage System V300R006 Remote Replication Feature Guide for Block 02.
