In this post will talk about how to transfer a software backup from UMPT in Slot 7 to another UMPT in the same BBU, this feature is very important for field engineers, and you may need it.
this is an important feature that distinguishes Huawei devices BTS3900, This feature makes the software transfer task very easy between boards and it faster transfer software method compared to the normal transfer software method and It saves a lot of time.
Let's start by explaining how to do this with Illustrative pictures of the process.
Steps To Transfer of software between two UMPT in BBU3900 :-
1- First install the UMPT board that you want to transfer the software in slot 6,Pay attention to the correct position of the board during installation.
2- The two slots in which UMPT boards can be installed in the BBU are slot 6 and slot 7 after installation,then start to login the Main UMPT in slot 7 by LMT .
3- Use ADD BRD to define UMPT in slot 6 as shown in the next picture,
this comment used when you want to add board to configuration such (UMPT,LMPT,WMPT,GTMU,UBBP,UPRI,,UCIU,UTRP,UMCU,MDCU).
4- Use command DSP BKPSTATUS to display backup status now.
There are four kinds of backup state.
1- Ready indicates : the initial backup has not started.
2- Initial backup : is the first backup after system startup, and all files are backed up.
3- Daily backup : is to back up of configuration files and software packages every five minutes.
4-Idle : Indicates that no backup is currently taking place.
5 - After 10 minutes, if everything is OK, you will be shown the backup status = initial backup and the progress will show as a Percentage of the transfer software from UMPT in slot 7 to UMPT in slot 6.
The reasons that led to the failure of software transfer.
1- The UMPT is faulty that you want to transfer the software to it.
2- The UMPT that you want to transfer the software to in slot 6 has a higher software version than the software version in UMPT in slot 7.
3- The UMPT that you want to transfer the software to in slot 6 It has a very old version which is much less than
the software version UMPT in solt 7.
