Good day Community,

Can we ask for your help regarding the uneven traffic on the stacked ports of the device S6720-30C-EI-24S-DC?

Hi Cart,

By default, the physical member ports of a stack port perform load balancing in enhanced mode. So the possible cause is that traffic features are unique and hash load balancing cannot be performed.

You can try to use the stack-port load-balance mode command to adjust the load balancing mode and observe the result.

stack

Example

# Set the global load balancing mode to src-ip.

<HUAWEI> system-view

[HUAWEI] stack-port load-balance mode src-ip

# Set the load balancing mode on stack port 0/1 to dst-ip.

<HUAWEI> system-view

[HUAWEI] interface stack-port 0/1

[HUAWEI-stack-port0/1] stack-port load-balance mode dst-ip

If all parameters have been tried and load balancing still fails,  the traffic statistics are unique and no hash load sharing is possible. For example, a large amount of traffic of the same type is transmitted. In this case, it is recommended to replace the 40GE ports as the stack ports.
