1. When the WLAN security profile of the AP is configured with WEP or TKIP encryption.
The 802.11n does not define the WEP or TKIP encryption mode. When the two encryption modes are used, STAs may fail to associate with the AP by using the 802.11n standard.
Example of security policy configuration that can cause the problem: security-profile name default security wpa psk pass-phrase %^%#&"-o#uzb)LYu;!/Pyv~%5=pf2mZodM'3wo4+qqdO%^%# tkip
To avoid this problem, we recommend on using a different encryption method instead of TKIP.
2. WMM(Wi-Fi Multimedia) is disabled under the WLAN radio profile of the AP.
For 802.11n standard WMM is a mandatory requirement and in the case where WMM is disabled in the WLAN radio, the stations will not be able to associate on the AP by using this standard. Hence, the station will continue to associate by using legacy standards as 802.11a/b/g.
Example of radio profile configuration that can cause the problem: radio-2g-profile name default wmm disable radio-type dot11n
To avoid this problem, we recommend on keeping the WMM enabled.
