The STA fails to associate with the AP.
The STA fails to be authenticated.
The common causes for a STA authentication failure are: the domain name is not bound to a valid authentication server, the IP address of the device is not configured on the RADIUS server, and the shared key exchanged between the RADIUS server and device is incorrect. If a Portal authentication failure occurs, the IP address of the client may be not in the trusted IP address list of the Portal server.
Common commands used to check an authentication failure:
display aaa abnormal-offline-record xx
display aaa online-fail-record
display aaa offline-record
The STA fails to obtain an IP address.
Configure a static IP address for the STA and check whether the STA can go online properly using the static IP address. If so, the STA fails to go online because it cannot obtain an IP address. If not, the STA cannot associate with the AP or fails to be authenticated.
