Got it

SSID is different after resetting the modem (than the default mentioned on the device plate underneath) // HG8121H

My local network guy hard resetted the modem today. There is a plate underneath the HG8121H which says a certain default SSID and password.

When I'm accessing it via WLAN, it is showing a different SSID than mentioned on the plate and the password, of course, also doesn't work.

Tried connecting via LAN, but that isn't identifying the modem, as well.

Everything was working well before the reset.

Is there any possible solution to this problem? Everyone we talked to was also confused when we mentioned to them that default SSID is different than one showing on WiFi enabled devices. Nobody has been able to troubleshoot this issue.

Hello, friend!

The SSID may be changed. Therefore, the displayed SSID is different from the SSID displayed on the device nameplate.

You are advised to log in to the ONT web page.

1. Click the Advanced Configuration > WLAN tab, and choose 2.4G Basic Network Settings from the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane, configure the basic parameters of the 2.4G Wi-Fi network.

2.4

2. Click the Advanced Configuration > WLAN tab, and choose 5G Basic Network Settings from the navigation tree on the left. In the right pane, configure the basic parameters of the 5G Wi-Fi network.
