Hey there!
SON (Self-Organizing Network) is a complete set of network concepts and specifications derived from the development of LTE, mainly proposed by operators, with the main idea of realizing some autonomous functions of wireless networks, reducing human involvement and lowering operating costs.
Key SON technologies include PCI (Physical Cell Identity) auto-configuration, coverage and capacity optimization, automatic neighborhood relations, load balancing, and random access channel optimization.
At the current stage, SON will realize ANR (Automatic Neighbor Relation) and PCI auto-configuration; at the advanced stage, it will realize coverage and capacity optimization, load balancing optimization and RACH (Random Access Channel) random access channel optimization.
