In the 400,000-user enterprise on-premises scenario based on VMware+COTS, some VMs fail to boot or automatically load the boot file after being powered on. However, if I press Enter on the VM console, the VMs successfully load the boot file and the processes are properly started.
The possible causes are 1) The configuration data is added at a late time and the VMs fail to read the configuration data during startup. 2) The MAC addresses of the VMs in the configuration data are different from the actual ones.
- Right-click a VM and choose Edit Settings > Options > Boot Options.
- Select When the virtual machine fails to find boot device, automatically retry boot after 10 seconds
