The purpose of putting the NE ID is to easily manage the NE from NMS.
1. The first part of the NE ID is an example 9-1. The 9 is the extended ID. It usually refers to a subnet number to identify unique or different subnets. Normally if the NEs are in the same subnets, we will put the same extended ID for the NE. the extended ID value ranges from 1-254, and by default it is set as9.
2. The NEs can still communicate with each other as long as they are connected to the same gateway NE, GNE.
3. Please make sure that the NE ID is unique for each NE.
