QUESTIONS

  1. how to save from system mode
in Cisco I can type "do wr me" in config mode directly.

  2. how to save without prompting
in Linux I can type "apt upgrade -y"
  3.   when I save then press Enter in "(y/n)[n]:"
    it keep asking this
Are you sure to continue? (y/n)[n]:
Why I need to type like this "(y/n)[n]:n" instead of just "(y/n)[n]:"
I thought [n] mean default respond like in any linux

  4. lacp in ge0/0/0 and ge0/0/1
can I increase bandwidth by bonding both ge ports?
both GE ports will be connected to AC6005

1. how to save from system mode
in Cisco I can type "do wr me" in config mode directly.

====== You need switch to user view and execute command save to save the configuration. There is no command that allows the administrators to execute command in the wrong view.

2. how to save without prompting

in Linux I can type "apt upgrade -y"

====== No, VRP doesn't provide such function yet.

3. when I save then press Enter in "(y/n)[n]:"

it keep asking this
Are you sure to continue? (y/n)[n]:

I thought [n] mean default respond like in any linux

====== There is no default value for this action. From my understanding, the system needs the administrator to confirm carefully about this operation. As you know, configuration changes might impact the service.

4. lacp in ge0/0/0 and ge0/0/1
can I increase bandwidth by bonding both ge ports?
both GE ports will be connected to AC6005

====== Yes, you can create an eth-trunk interface, and bound these two interfaces to the eth-trunk to improve the bandwidth. If your AP5030DN is work in FAT mode, you can refer to Configuring Link Aggregation in Manual Load Balancing Mode, and if it works in FIT mode, please refer to Configuring Link Aggregation on an AP's Wired Interface.

Maybe feature request in the next version
1. how to save from system mode
need extra effort to switch back and forth between user to sys mode
why I can click Save in GUI?
why Cisco Forti Juniper can do while you can't do
2. how to save without prompting
easier in scripting if I just simply put -y
3. when I save then press Enter in "(y/n)[n]:"
same as #2 easier in scripting if I don't have to type n

nowadays admin to be smarter. I just need to run netmiko or ansible in central location instead of running every command in each switch

Hi,
If you just want to autosave in the script, you can just add character y at the bottom of you script, for example:

int g0/0/0
ip add 10.1.1.1 24
q
q
save
y
dis ip in b

The script above will autosave the configuration and output the modification.
