The message "Some drivers are not healthy" is displayed under CH121 V5 Device Manager

The cause is that the FC port is not registered with the switch. You can scan the LUN in the BIOS to trigger registration information.

scan for fibre devices

After the scan, go back to the main menu.

RAID Controller Card Not Healthy in Device Manager

Symptoms

On the Device Manager screen, the message "Some drivers are not healthyis displayed, as shown in Figure 6-157.

Solution

  1. Select Some drivers are not healthy and press Enter.

    The health status screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-158.

  2. Select Repair the whole platform and press Enter.

    The Driver Healthy Protocol Utility screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-159.

  3. Check the message displayed on the Driver Healthy Protocol Utility screen.

    • The following VDs have missing disks: See VDs have missing disks
    • There are offline or missing virtual drives with preserved cache.: see preserved cache.
    • Some configured disks have been removed from your system or All of the disks from your previous configuration are gone: See Configuration Loss.

VDs have missing disks

Symptoms

On the Driver Healthy Protocol Utility screen, the message "The following VDs have missing disks" is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-160.

Solution
  1. Repair the RAID controller card.

    1. On the screen shown in Figure 6-160, select Enter Your Input Here and press Enter.

      An input box is displayed.

    2. Enter c, select Yes, and press Enter.

      The Driver Healthy Protocol Utility screen is displayed.

    3. Select Enter Your Input Here and press Enter.

      An input box is displayed.

    4. Enter y, select Yes, and press Enter.

      The system displays Critical Message handling completed. Please exit. The repairing is completed.

  2. Restart the server and check whether the message "The platform is healthy" is displayed on the Device Manager screen.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, contact Huawei technical support.

preserved cache

Symptom

When you open the Driver Healthy Protocol Utility screen, the message "There are offline or missing virtual drives with preserved cache" is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-161.

Solution
  1. On the screen shown in Figure 6-161, select Enter Your Input Here and press Enter.

    The screen shown in Figure 6-162 is displayed.

  2. Enter any content, select Yes, and press Enter.

    The message "Critical Message handling completed. Please exit" is displayed.

  3. Press Esc to go back to the Device Manager screen, as shown in Figure 6-163.

  4. Select AVAGO MegaRAID <SAS3108> driver Health Protocol Utility and press Enter.

    The Configuration Utility screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-164.

  5. Select Discard Preserved Cache and press Enter.

    A confirmation dialog box is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-165.

  6. Select Confirm and press Enter.
  7. Select Yes and press Enter.

    The message "The operation has been performed successfully" is displayed.

  8. Select OK and press Enter.
  9. Restart the server. The Device Manager screen is displayed. Check whether the message "The platform is healthy" is displayed on the screen.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, contact Huawei technical support.

Configuration Loss

Symptoms

When you open the Driver Healthy Protocol Utility screen, the message "Some configured disks have been removed from your system" or "All of the disks from your previous configuration are gone" is displayed, as shown in Figure 6-166.

Solution
  1. Perform different operations based on the message displayed on the screen shown in Figure 6-166.

    • All of the disks from your previous configuration are gone: Perform 2 to 5 in sequence.
    • Some configured disks have been removed from your system: Perform 2 and 5 in sequence.

  2. Repair the RAID controller card.

    1. On the screen shown in Figure 6-166, select Enter Your Input Here and press Enter.

      An input box is displayed.

    2. Enter c, select Yes, and press Enter.

      The Driver Healthy Protocol Utility screen is displayed.

    3. Select Enter Your Input Here and press Enter.

      An input box is displayed.

    4. Enter y, select Yes, and press Enter.

      The system displays Critical Message handling completed. Please exit. The repairing is completed.

  3. Press Esc to go back to the Figure 6-157 screen.
  4. Go to the RAID controller card main screen and delete RAID controller card configurations.

    For details, see Configure.

  5. Restart the server and check whether the message "The platform is healthy" is displayed on the Device Manager screen.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, contact Huawei technical support.
