SoftRAID OS Installation Guide in Multi-RAID Scenarios

For servers that support SoftRAID, both soft RAID controllers and hard RAID controllers may be used. In a typical scenario, the operating system is installed on the software RAID hard disk and data is stored on a hardware RAID hard disk.
This document provides methods for installing both the boot drive and system drive on the software RAID hard disk rather than the hardware RAID hard disk. If the boot drive or system drive is installed on the hardware RAID hard disk, the operating system may fail to start if the hardware RAID hard disk is removed.
Because SoftRAID does not support EFI, a server can only run a Windows, RHEL, or SLES operating system if SoftRAID is used. This document guides you through the BIOS configuration and hardware selection for the three types of operating system. For details about subsequent operations, see the installation guide for the operating system you use.
