we have changed the default admin password for the switch SNS2224 but we lost it and now we can't access the swiitch console, is there a way to reset the admin password ?

Good day!

  • If you know the super administrator password, you can perform the following operations to restore the password of the default user, administrator and vendor.

1. Log in to the CLI of the switch through a serial port or remotely.

2. Log in to the switch as the super administrator.

3. Run the following commands based on the type of the user whose password is lost:

a) passwd user

b) passwd admin

c) passwd factory

4. Enter the corresponding information in the prompt box.

  • If you do not know the super administrator password, contact the Huawei technical support to obtain the password.
