SNMPv1, SNMPv2, and SNMPv3are supported. The SNMPv3 is used by default. Administrators can configure andquery the protocol version in use. It is recommended that you use the secureSNMPv3 protocol to manage equipment. The SNMPv3 authentication protocol usesHMAC-MD5-96 and HMAC-SHA-96 encryption algorithms, while the DES and AES128encryption algorithm are used in the data transmission phase.

The mechanism for defendingSNMP attacks is that when request packets sent from an IP address fail to beauthenticated, the IP address is locked for some time, during which, request packets sent from this IP address are not processed until the locking duration expires.
