Abnormal symptom:
The SmartLogger 2000 connects to the FusionSolar7.0 system through a wireless route. The customer reports that after the route is changed and parameters are reconfigured, the SmartLogger cannot connect to the SmartPVMS. Log in to the SmartLogger WebUI. The management system displays a message indicating that the domain name fails to be resolved, and the Ethernet status indicates that the network management system cannot be connected.

Onsite networking mode:
SUN2000-125KTL-M0→SmartLogger2000→ wireless router → FusionSolar 7.0
Exception triggering scenario:
Impact: The SmartPVMS is disconnected, and the inverter data is not updated in the background. As a result, the inverter operating status cannot be monitored in real-time.
Fault Locating
The SmartLogger logs returned from the site showed that the SmartLogger was properly connected to the U2000 server before 09:00 on February 2, 2021. After 15:20, an error (socket exception = socket error) was reported and the system was in the domain name check state. No other error was reported.

The log information is verified with onsite engineers. The customer reported that the SmartLogger was disconnected from the SmartPVMS after the new router was replaced at 15:20 p.m. According to the onsite feedback, the wired network parameters of the SmartLogger are not modified after the route is changed. After the customer logs in to the SmartLogger WebUI and wireless router WebUI, it is found that the non-routed IP addresses are configured for the SmartLogger gateway and DNS server. After the non-routed IP addresses are changed to the router IP addresses, the communication is restored.
summary
The SmartLogger2000 uses 3G/4G wireless routes to connect to the SmartPVMS. Set the following parameters correctly:
Management system parameters: server (cn.fusionsolar.huawei.com/49.4.11.129), port number (16100), address mode (logical address), SSL encryption (enabled), and secondary challenge authentication (disabled)
![]()
Note: Generally, Address Mode is set to Communication Address. If the devices connected to the six RS485 ports on the SmartLogger have duplicate communication addresses, you must select Logical Address.
If SSL encryption is set to Disable, data is not encrypted and user data may be stolen. Exercise caution when using this command.
If Secondary Challenge Authentication is set to Disable, the secondary challenge authentication result is not checked, and user data is stolen.
Risks. Exercise caution when using this command.
Wired network settings: Ensure that the IP address is in the same network segment as the router and the subnet mask is the same as the router.

Note: In wired network parameters, the IP address of the SmartLogger and the 3G/4G router must be in the same network segment. For example, the IP address of the SmartLogger is 192.168.0.10, the IP address of the 3G/4G router is in the same network segment as 192.168.0.1, and the subnet mask of the SmartLogger and 3G/4G router is 255.255.255.0, the default gateway and DNS server are both 3G/4G router IP addresses.
