On the morning of December 11, 2018, Mr xxx is a contractor from the xxxx Company he called us to do commissioning at the xxxx Company, in Saraburi. There are 75 inverters model Sun2000-36kTL. They would like us to set parameter by using sun2000App to inverter by inverter. Anyway, we prefered to use Enspire to set parameter because it is easier and faster than using Bluetooth. But when we were using the SmartLogger to connect inverters, it could not find out them. Then we ask the contractor how to connect RS485 cable. They complied with Huawei's mannual. But RS485 cable connection was incorrect. First connect th RS485IN port not RS485OUT, we switched it but Huawei Service Manager said it can work even it switched, so we tried to Auto search but nothing changed. After that we analyzed it could be about communication cable, we went to inverters and checked RS485 cable again. If RS485 connecting was normal, it would be something wrong at RS485 cable. We checked RS485 is it a good cable, we used multi-meter to make sure that perfect but not, some part of cable was teared and touched the ground. Finally we knew the problem exactly and let them change communication cable and SmartLogger was able to find them.

Problem Analysis: Human error by technician, installing RS485 communication cable incorrectly.
SmartLogger, inverter have a problem, The distance is too long. Cause : RS485 wire is poor, a part of
RS485 touches the ground then SmartLogger cannot find out inverters.
Solution : We tried to check which
wire touched the ground each inverter by using multimeter. After we knew the
cause, then we gave a suggestion to change RS485 cable, inverters were found
finally.
