HiCoins as reward: 0 (problem unresolved)

Hi,

Is there any way for the MA5616 to display what Handshaking tones have been used by the VTU-R device to connect to the MA5616.

We are trying to determine if the VTU-R devices uses A43, B43 or V43 handshaking tones.

Thanks

Mark.

Hello, friend!

Confirmed:

If you want to use the MA5616 to check whether the VTU-R has the A43c spectrum, only the A43c handshake tone is enabled on the MA5616, and then check whether the board is activated. If the board is activated, In this case, the VTU-R has a spectrum for transmitting A43c.

Example:

A

MA5616

Hi,

You can run the display xdsl handshake tone a43c (diagnosis) command to query whether the A43C handshake tone is enabled. When you need to query the status of the transmit signal switch of different frequency bands, run this command.

Example:

To query the enabling status of the A43C handshake tone, do as follows:

huawei(diagnose)%%display xdsl handshaking-tone a43c

------------------------------------------------------------------------

A43C switch: disable

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks!

Hi,

The current version of the device supports the display xdsl handshake-tone command to query whether the system handshake tone is enabled. When you need to query the status of the transmit signal switch of different frequency bands, run this command.

Command Format

display xdsl handshaking-tone[a43 | a43c | b43 | v43]

Example:

To query whether the A43 handshake tone is enabled, run the following command:

huawei(diagnose)%%display xdsl handshaking-tone a43

------------------------------------------------------------------------

A43 switch: enable

Tx PSD level(-dBm/Hz): 50

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks!

Yes, we are aware of that command. We have been able to enable and disable the various tones.

But, my understanding of the command is that it tells the MA5616 to use a particular tone (say A43), if it doesn't receive a tone from the VTU-R

We have a VTU-R device where we believe the V43 tones have been disabled and we wish to verify this is the case. But when we enable only the V43 tones (using the command you suggested) on the MA5616, we still get sync. Suggesting:

1. The V43 tones are not disabled on our VTU-R OR
2. The MA5616 only will use V43, if it receives no other tones from the VTU-R

That is why we would like a way to see exactly what tones are being used during handshaking

Disabling of V43 tones is a requirement of a number of carriers like British Telecom and Australia's NBN.

Thanks
Mark.

Hello, my friend!

Confirmed:

The display xdsl handshake-tone command on the MA5616 displays only the handshake tone configured on the MA5616, not the actual capability of the VTU-R. The displayed configuration is only the configuration enabled on the MA5616 at the central office.

If you want to disable the A43c, you only need to disable the A43c on the VTU-R. You can also run the xdsl handshake-tone command on the central office to disable the A43c.

huawei(diagnose)%%xdsl handshaking-tone a43c

{ disable<K>|enable<K> }:disable

Thanks!

Hi.

The problem we have is that the selection of handshaking tones used by the VTU-R is not a user setting. It has to be hard coded in the VTU-R firmware.

We have to use an ODM to do the firmware for us and the ODM is not sure if they have disabled the V43 tone or not in the firmware and they claim that have no way to test it.

If we can see on our MA5616 what tones have been used, we can tell them if their firmware changes are correct.

So is there anyway to find out from the MA5616 which tones have been used for handshaking?

Thanks
Mark.
