Setting Camera Parameters

Camera parameters can be centrally configured based on vendors onsite. This section describes how to set Huawei camera parameters.

Background

  • Hikvision cameras can be connected to MPUs based on the HIKSDK and ONVIF protocols. The HIKSDK protocol–based connection to MPUs is more stable. Therefore, you are advised to use the HIKSDK protocol to connect Hikvision cameras to MPUs. For details, see Adding HIKSDK-Complaint Cameras.
  • Before connecting an Axis camera to an MPU, you need to set certain parameters in the camera web system as follows:
    1. Choose System Options > ONVIF.
    2. Add an ONVIF account.
      1. Click Add.
      2. Set User namePassword, and Confirm password.
      3. Set User group to Administrator.
      4. Click OK.
    3. Choose System Options > Advanced > Plain config, and deselect the WebService check box.
    4. Choose System Options > Security > ONVIF and delete the IP information of zeroconf under Network.
  • When connecting a Samsung camera to an MPU using the ONVIF protocol, you need to log in to the camera web system, set the NTP server IP address to the MPU IP address, and ensure that the time zone is the same as that of the MPU.
