Setting a Server to Join the Domain

Prerequisites

You have installed the domain controller. For configuration details, see Installing the Domain Controller.

Procedure

VP1 and VP2 must join the domain. This procedure uses VP1 as an example and is also applicable to VP2.

1. Log in to VP1 as the administrator.
2. Click Start, right-click Computer, and choose Properties from the shortcut menu.
3. In the displayed System dialog box, click Advanced system settings.

   The System Properties dialog box is displayed.

4. Click the Computer Name tab. On this tab, click Change.... In the displayed Computer Name/Domain Changes dialog box, click Domain under Member of and enter smc20.com in the text box, as shown in Figure 1.

5. Click OK.

   The Windows Security dialog box is displayed.

6. Enter the user name (Administrator) and password (Huawei123456), which have the permission to access the domain controller, and click OK.

   The dialog box shown in Figure 2 is displayed.

7. Click OK.

   A dialog box is displayed, prompting you to restart VP1.

8. Click OK.

   The System Properties dialog box is displayed.

9. Click Close.

   A dialog box is displayed, prompting you to restart VP1.

10. Click Restart Now to restart VP1.

    When you log in to a server after it is added to the domain, the domain is smc20, the user name is smc20.com\Administrator, and the password is Admin654321.
