Hello, I'm trying to set a VDSL connection on my AR129CVW router, but some of the features I can find on the forum are missing:

This Huawei page shows this screenshot:

Huawei Add interface

but on my end, the Interface name menu is empty (even if I can see an interface under the interface list, named Ethernet0/0/0).

My ATM configuration

My problem is that it looks like the only way to change that vlan setting and add username/password to the connection is by creating a new interface, thing that I cannot do since the "Interface name" menu is empty.

Also, I tried using the service-port command, but on my device it doesn't even exist.

<Huawei AR129CVW>system-view
Enter system view, return user view with Ctrl+Z.
[Huawei AR129CVW]service-port
                 ^
Error: Unrecognized command found at '^' position.
[Huawei AR129CVW]servi?
                 ^
Error: Unrecognized command found at '^' position.

A display version might be useful:

[Huawei AR129CVW]dis version
Huawei Versatile Routing Platform Software
VRP (R) software, Version 5.170 (AR120 V200R008C50SPC500)
Copyright (C) 2011-2017 HUAWEI TECH CO., LTD
Huawei AR129CVW Router uptime is 0 week, 0 day, 0 hour, 10 minutes
MPU 0(Master) : uptime is 0 week, 0 day, 0 hour, 9 minutes
SDRAM Memory Size    : 512     M bytes
Flash 0 Memory Size  : 512     M bytes
MPU version information :
1. PCB      Version  : AR129CGVW-L VER.C
2. MAB      Version  : 0
3. Board    Type     : AR129CVW
4. BootROM  Version  : 1

And those are the details of the connection I have to configure:

Encapsulation: PTM
VLAN: 1036
Username/Password: vodafonedsl
NAT: Enabled

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hi, friend!

Based on your problem description, my suggestions are as follows:

1. The WAN port of the AR129 supports the VDSL PTM mode.

2. Configure the WAN port.

3. For details, see the device description in the product documentation.

Configuring a VDSL Interface in PTM Mode

To configure the PTM, perform the following steps:

AR129

Thanks for your answer, but that documentation still doesn't tell me the commands used to set a VLAN and the credentials to the PTM interface

Hi, friend!
By default, the VDSL interface works in PTM mode. As for the VLAN, you do not understand the VLAN. Can you give me an example?

The Vodafone official websites says I have to set a VLAN on my VDSL interface, I don't understand it either so I thought I could ask here.

Hi, friend!
Ha-ha, okay. In my understanding, you only need to configure the VDSL interface to work in PTM mode. No VLAN is configured. At least in Huawei.
