I have this situation. One of my OLTs is over 35km from ONTs, and services work normally with optical power 1310nm on OLT are about -35dBm. I use SFP C+, and for these SFP maximum receiver sensitivity is -32dBm.


Can it create a problem with SFP, if it lasts for a long time?

The distance between the OLT and the ONT is within the normal range, but the SFP optical power is not within the normal range. If the optical power is too low for a long time, services may be unstable or interrupted. In this case, check the optical line quality and whether the SFP optical power is faulty.

The normal optical power range is determined by repeated tests. The optical power within this range is normal and does not damage the equipment.

Hello, friend!
If the optical power is out of the normal range, the service may not be stable. Huawei does not promise that services are running properly in this case.
Only when the optical power is within the normal range, Huawei promises that the services are running properly.
