Today, I'd like to share a case with you.
Problem Description
One of OSN1500 equipment the CXL board reported Power_fail with parameter 0x99. After replacing it the NE can't login and the service on this equipment was impacted.
Problem Analysis
1. Unplug the board and check the jump switch.
2. After unplugging the primary board try login on NMS but failed.
3. Plug-in the spare part (CXL) and try login in by navigator, found that the NE-ID changed back to default.
4. Reconfig the NEID through the Navigator.
5. Try download operation from NMS ---- failed.
6. Try restoring the database from NMS --- failed.
7. check the NE version information from NMS and get both versions of the SCC board through Navigtor -- fond that the version on NMS is higher than PHY board.
8. Download the database and transfer to command then run the script under navigator.
Root Cause
1. Primary and secondary SCC board running under a different version.
2. Request the spare part without version information.
3. The spare part version same as the secondary but different from the old primary board.
Solution Description
Option 1: Return the old version SCC board and request the same version board again.
Option 2: Commission and initialize the device again. Record the original service configurations and apply them again.
