Service card on the MA5603T

Hi there!!! 

I would like to share with you a small problem that arose in one of the equipment I work with.


A few weeks ago, several ports on the H80BADPE service card were not linking to the corresponding modems. The card was reset and all services started working without problem.

Recently the same card generated the alarm: Communication between the board and the control board fails. The alarm reset without intervention.

Could this be a warning for a possible failure of the service card? It is currently working without problem.

  ALARM NAME  : The communication of the board with the control board
                recovers
  SRVEFF      : NSA
  PARAMETERS  : FrameID: 0, SlotID: 2, Board Name: H80BADPE
  DESCRIPTION : The communication between the service board and the control
                board recovers from a fault
  CAUSE       : The communication with the control board recovers
  ADVICE      : No need to deal with it

  ALARM NAME  : The communication between the board and the control board

  DESCRIPTION : The communication of the board interrupted ,the services in
                the board fail
  CAUSE       : The communication with the control board is abnormal
  ADVICE      : (1)There is no need to deal with it if the operation for
                resetting the board or loading software is performed (2)Check
                whether the board is in position, If yes, reset the board, If
                not, insert the board again(3)Reload the board software

Dear friend!

The possible causes are as follows:

  1. A serial port, Telnet, or network management system (NMS) user issues a board reset command.

  2. The service board is not properly connected or is removed.

  3. The hardware of the service board is faulty.

  4. The service board fails to communicate with the active control board.

  5. The service board is powered off because the temperature of it or the control board is high.

  6. The service board is automatically powered off after the mains supply is cut off.

  7. The service board is automatically powered off with no service configured.

  8. A user changes the working mode of the service board so that the board resets.

  9. The user executes a board prohibits or undo board prohibit command.

  10. The user runs a command to power off the service board.


For the handling method, I've put it in the attachment. Please download and view it.

If the fault persists, contact Huawei local engineers to create a trouble ticket.

I recommend you to open a ticket with technical support. They can run some diagnostics to know if the card may have a problem and replace it. Maybe this is the first call and you will need to change the card to avoid any service interruption problem.
