Segment Routing MPLS

Looking for huawei's implementation of Segment Routing MPLS, i've found that NE routers support it.

Any plans to add it on switches that already suport mpls features ?

It's by hardware limitation of design choice ? We have an mpls network with around 40 devices (s6720/s5720) running mpls. Changing to NE series has a huge difference on price.

It's by hardware limitation of design choice ? We have an mpls network with around 40 devices (s6720/s5720) running mpls. Changing to NE series has a huge difference on price.

@AGregory I think the hardware limitation is the main reason, segment routing requires more resources to store the segment ID and calculate the forwarding path, while S6700 series switch is not able to provide such resources.

Upon checking, it is supported on NetEngine Huawei routers and for switches it is in road map and should be available soon in the latest upcoming firmware versions.

Good to now that something is on the roadmap. mpls+ldp+rsvp+te+mp bgp does the work, but is a bit annoying to manage at large scale.
