Do you often connect to the public WIFI network when you are in public places such as shopping malls, restaurants, and cafes?

Each device in the network has a unique network identifier, this identifier is called a MAC address or a network card address. It is written in the hardware when it is produced by the network equipment manufacturer.
So each phone corresponds to a unique MAC address, when you connect to the public WIFI, if the actual MAC address is displayed every time, the public WIFI can obtain the MAC address of the device, then your personal information may be collected, matched, and used, merchants may often push you advertising information, which will cause trouble to your lives.
However, the MAC randomization feature of Huawei Mate 30 series keeps you away from this risk. When using Mate 30 series phones to connect to different hotspots, the phone can randomly generate MAC addresses to avoid leaking personal.
How to set up a random MAC to protect privacy?
When connecting to hotspots, the Mate 30 uses a randomized MAC address by default. If necessary, you can also set whether to use randomized MAC connection or device MAC connection for each hotspot.
The setting method is very simple: click the hotspot to connect, in the password input interface, check "Show advanced options", click "Privacy", you can choose whether to use randomized MAC or use device MAC for this connection.

For a hotspot that is not encrypted, you can swipe the screen to the bottom of the WIFI hotspot list interface and click "Add network" to manually add the target hotspot, and then choose whether to use randomized MAC or use device MAC for this connection.

How to view the MAC address?
After the WIFI connection is successful, click the connected hotspot to view the randomized MAC address used in the connection, as shown in the figure:
