Hi friend!
Generally, no problem occurs as long as the hardware version is the same.
In SCC 1+1 protection mode, if a new SCC board is installed, the SCC board becomes the standby SCC board by default, and the existing SCC board is the active SCC board.
Hardware:
For WDM products, the prerequisite for version matching is that the hardware versions are consistent. If the hardware versions are inconsistent, check the version substitution relationship in the product documentation. The hardware versions of the two SCC boards working in the 1+1 protection state must be the same( For example, the TN51SCC board can only work with the TN51SCC board to provide 1+1 protection).
Software:
1. If the version of the new SCC board is earlier than that of the existing active SCC board, the active SCC board automatically loads the software package of the new SCC board so that the standby SCC board is upgraded to be the same as that of the active SCC board.
2. If the version of the new SCC board is later than the current version but belongs to the same version series, The active SCC automatically loads the software package to the new SCC to downgrade the new SCC to ensure that the new SCC is the same as the active SCC.
If no software package is available in the memory card (for example, the CF card) of the active SCC board, you need to load the original software package to the device (load the same software package as that of the active SCC board).
Please Note:
1. For traditional MSTP equipment, such as OptiX OSN 1500/2500/3500/7500, the software and hardware of the new SCC board must be consistent with that of the working SCC board because they do not have the function of automatically matching software versions.
2. The software loading and software upgrade of the standby SCC board is risky. Please apply for an operation window to perform the operation.
Thank you!
