Brillouin scattering is different from Raman scattering in that small energy element excitations, such as acoustic phonons and magnetic oscillators, are studied in Brillouin scattering. Raman scattering is an inelastic scattering generated by the interaction of molecular vibration and optical phonons in solids with excited light. |
