S7703 - Why not recommended to deploy WLAN services on S7703.

On the above link under table 10-2, it is mentioned that You are advised to use S7712, S7706 PoE, or S7706 switches to deploy WLAN services. S7703 or S7703 PoE switches are not recommended.


Could anyone tell me what is the limitation?

Actually, we already proposed and ordered the S7703 switches with X series line card and will be running WLAN services from SS7703.


We need to clarify the customer about the limitation.

Updating and patching will be for all services, just not wlan alone, change managment becomes more complex.

So I would only advice integration if there would be a very good reason to do so. And please do note that the S7703 is not as scalable as a S7706 or 12 as they support CSS while the S7703 does not.
