We are considering purchasing the S7703 with MPU-D to be a Core switch (plus ES1D2S16X2E as the interface cards) , we basically will use it inside our network with 2 VRFs and L3VPN (v4/v6) so we need the S7703 to support MPLS and L3VPN (and of course OSPF, BGP).
We will also do VRF leaking using RT Import/Export.
Total amount of ARP/NDP entries won't be likely bigger than 40 - 45k (so, assuming all hosts active, we need around 45k IPv4 ARP entries, 45k IPv6 NDP entries and 45k MAC address entries, likely no more than 200 VLANs)
Total amount of routes plus MPLS labels, won't be higher than 400
According to the documents it seems this box can easily scale to those numbers and support the features (also, our bandwidth is less than 20 Gbps).
However I'd like to know if someone here can confirm this, or has experiences to share with this platform.
According to the Brochure, S7703 supports a maximum of 128K ARP entries. Different boards have different specifications. You are advised to contact the TAC for confirmation.
