Hello,

Previously we used S5720-12TP-LI-AC switch for acces, and now we started to use the successor model S5735-L12T4S-A as Huawei recommends.

For troubleshooting purposes, we are using MAC-SWAP loopback for bandthwith measurement.

Now the new SW only supports the whole port loopback, instead of specified src - dst MACs.

hedex explicitly says S5735 only supports this kind of loopback.

Is it possible that the next software version will support the previously familiar loopback method where we can specify src-dst MAC addresses?

Thanks,

Robert

Hi robex,

You can use a specific example to describe the impact of this function on your network. If possible, we will report the issue to R&D engineers and urge them to implement this function in the next version.

Usually we are usung the following command:
loopback local swap-mac source-mac 0018-2000-0085 dest-mac 0018-2000-0070 vlan 100 interface GigabitEthernet0/0/1

On S5735-L it's not possible, only the whole port can be configured to loop back packets.
This is an access switch, with 1 uplink port, if we configure mac-swap loopback on uplink port, all of the clients disconnects, and all VLANs traffic is looped back. This causes the whole network unstable.

According to R&D engineers, the switch does not support the local MAC swap loopback test because the chip does not support this function. No solution is available.
