Theoretically speaking, the S5730-HI provides the integrated WLAN AC function that can manage 1,000 APs, reducing the costs of purchasing additional WLAN AC hardware. But given the practical deployment scenario, if you have this much access points, go with a dedicated Access Controller (either in a separate box or as a line card in modular core switches). As, management scalability that controller can give you, won't be possible with the access switch.

S5730-HI supports up to 1024 APs. What should be pointed out is that the number of online APs supported by the device is controlled by licenses. The device supports a maximum of 16 online APs. To increase the number of online APs supported by the device, apply for and purchase a license from the agent.
