Hi there,

I have been trying to find a way to configure DNS configuration so that the switch can use our DNS server thru our management vpn-instance. We use vpn-instance heavily and have a lot of vpn-instances running. The commands I used as below.

dns resolve

dns server 1.1.1.1

dns server 1.1.1.2

dns server source-ip loopback1

dns domain mydomain.local

For some reasons, I can't define vpn-instance after the command "dns server 1.1.1.1" . We are using software Version 5.170 (V200R010C00SPC600) on our switches. Some techinical guides from Huawei Support mention that we can use the command like

dns server 1.1.1.1 vpn-instance MGNT

But I do not have that option to implement it. Could anyone assist me why I can't use that command. Thanks a heap in advance.

@gnuwarrior hi bro, command dns server vpn-instance is not supported in V200R010C00, you should upgrade to V200R013C00 or V200R012 to support this command.
