S1720-28GWR-PWR-4TPE always powering PDs even when 'undo poe enable'

Hello everyone!


Need your help.


Recently I bought S1720-28GWR-PWR-4TPE switch and facing a problem with PoE now - switch continuously provide power to PD regardless of my configuration.


I literally can't switch off PoE camera.

Hi @Hitchman,

The PoE function seems to be disabled correctly from your output.

Kindly trying the following test.

  1. Replace the camera with other PD device, checking if the switch still provide the power when "undo poe enable".

  2. Switch to another interface or/and switch, checking if the switch still provide the power when "undo poe enable".

By the way, S1720 provides power to the PD over copper line pairs connected to pins 1 and 2 and pins 3 and 6. You can try physically cut off the pins 4, 5, 7 and 8, checking if the switch is still able to provide the power supply.

Change the interface to a new one and check whether the PoE supply can be disabled.
