The account you use is configured for the AP, not for the S12700 login.If you need to configure the user name and password for the AP, log in to the AP.Then you can use the link you posted.If you need to log in to the S12700 and manage APs on the switch,In this case, your configuration is incorrect.

what I wanted to do is have a different user that can also access the APs. It seems in the GUI, I can only modify the "admin" account. If I wanted to have another account, I will need to login via CLI > wlan view > ap username command. Is this right? please correct me if I am wrong.

We can divide administrators into two categories. 1. The administrator created on the S12700 belongs to the switch and has the same rights as the admin user.You can manage, configure, modify, and view switches. 2. The link you just sent belongs to the administrator of the AP configuration.This user can only be used to log in to the configured AP. It cannot be used on the S12700.

for #2 can I create a new account for AP configuration using ap username command? this is not possible in the GUI?
