I have recently purchased a router B593s-22, hoping better reception than my E5332 (and more setting options), but I am facing the following issue.
When connected on a 3G network, the reception of the B593s-22 is always very poor.
But it seems having normal signal levels on 4G, 1-3 bars, what I was expecting at the locations chosen for testing.
I have made several tests in different locations with different 3G signal coverage, with or without external antenna (obviously activated in the router settings when connected) at each location and I always get only 1 bar of reception signal, except for once I got 2 bars for a moment.
As a comparison, I also have a mobile broadband device Huawei E5332 which was connected to the same network at the same time at all locations and always had 3-4 bars, using only the internal antenna…
How come the B593s-22 has such a poor 3G signal reception? And how come the E5332 has much better in the exact same situation? Is it normal?
How come the external antenna doesn't make any difference, even made it worse on one occasion? (The antenna covers the whole frequency range of the router...)
Any help will be much appreciated, as I had planned to use this device mostly on 3G networks.
As it is, it is nearly useless and I'm better off with my "old" E5332...
Thanks.
