This topic describes how to deal with the problem that RM fails to schedule a conference template and the system displays a message indicating insufficient IP resources.
Issue Description
Scheduling the conference template through the MCU8650 on the RM fails. The system displays a message indicating that the IP resources are insufficient.
Alarm
The system displays a message indicating that IP resources are insufficient.
Handing process
View the number of participants and bandwidth in the RM conference template. Result: The conference is a permanent conference with the bandwidth of 4 Mbit/s and participant’s number are 10.
Log in to the MCU8650 through SSH. Run the dis license command to query the port and IP resources of the MCU8650. Result: 12 x 8 Mbit/s, indicating that the MCU resources are sufficient.
Run the bnrm sysres command to query the IP resource usage. Result: The total capacity is 80 M, the used capacity is 0 M, and the license capacity is 96 M. The result indicates that no conference is ongoing and no IP resource is occupied.
Run the conf get command to check whether there are residual conferences on the MCU, the result indicating that no conference is ongoing. Run the conf ongoing end all command to forcibly end the residual conferences.
Check the conference templates on the RM one by one. It is found that a periodic conference is held every day and the number of participant are 4. In addition, the scheduled conference and the periodic conference overlap at 10:38-12:38 every day.
Advise the customer to hold 8 x 2 M permanent conference, the conference can be scheduled successfully.
Ask the customer to schedule 10 x 2 M scheduled conference that does not conflict with the periodic conference. The conference can be scheduled successfully.
(If the total number of ports does not exceed 12 in the license, the scheduling is normal.)
Root Cause
The RM conference template contains the periodic conference to be held. As a result, the permanent conference fails to be scheduled. IP resources are insufficient due to the time conflict between permanent conferences and periodic conferences.
Solution
Solution 1: Schedule permanent conferences with 8 x 2 M and periodic conferences with 4 x 2 M. The total number of ports cannot exceed 12.
Solution 2: Schedule a scheduled conference with 10 x 2 M participants (no time conflict with the periodic conference) and ensure that the number of ports does not exceed 12.
