Hello, everyone!
Resource Pool Monitoring: Supports unified monitoring and analysis of computing, storage, network, and big data resource pools to help users efficiently use resources, identify potential risks and problems, and provide improvement measures or suggestions.
Trial Use Scenario
Customer requirements:
During O&M, O&M personnel need to monitor the running status of resources in the resource pool of a data center to learn about the overall capacity, load, performance, topology, and alarms of the resources. In addition, O&M personnel need to capacity prediction and resource analysis the resource usage and provide accurate O&M suggestions. However, Resource Pool Monitoring may involve different regions, resource pools, AZs, hosts, VMs, clusters, and more. As a result, it is difficult to obtain required data
Solution:
The resource pool monitoring function allows you to view resource pool capacity, load, and resource details from different dimensions, forecast capacity and resource analyze, and provide effective O&M suggestions
This trail use describes how the O&M personnel of the company monitor and analyze OpenStack resource pools. The monitoring methods in other dimensions are similar.
Task 1: Viewing the Overall Status of Resource Pools in the Data Center
During routine maintenance, O&M personnel can view the overall running status of resource pools in a data center and learn about the overall resource, load, capacity, alarm information, and more of the resource pools in the data center.
Choose O&M Analysis>Resource Analysis from the main menu. In the navigation pane, choose Resource Pool Analysis.
Task 2: View the Overview of an OpenStack Resource Pool
The methods for viewing, forecasting, and analyzing resource pool information by region, resource pool, AZ, and host aggregate are similar. The following uses the resource pool as an example. View the resource pool overview to obtain the basic information, load, and capacity of each resource in real-time.
Task 3: Viewing the Capacity and Load of an OpenStack Resource Pool
On the Resource Pool Capacity tab page of a resource pool, O&M personnel can view the allocation of each capacity indicator of physical resources in a cloud DC from the resource pool perspective. On the Cloud Service Capacity tab page of a resource pool, O&M personnel can view the capacity allocation of cloud services such as ECS, EVS, and EIP from the cloud service perspective and adjust the capacity expansion plan based on the capacity information in a timely manner. On the Load tab page of a resource pool, O&M personnel can obtain key load indicators of resources and evaluate the indicators to prevent risks in a timely manner.
Task 4: Viewing the Details of an OpenStack Resource Pool
On the Resource tab page, you can view the overview, performance, alarm, and topology information about each resource to learn about the resource running status and locate resource pool faults. The methods for viewing details about AZs, host aggregates, host machines, management VMs, and ECSs are the same. The following uses the Elastic Cloud Servers as an example.
Task 5: Analyzing and Forecasting the Capacity of an OpenStack Resource Pool
O&M personnel can use the capacity forecast function to view the usage overview and forecasted trend of capacity indicators in real time and adjust the capacity expansion plan based on the forecast data. The function also enables O&M personnel to analyze resource idleness and bottleneck from the resource pool perspective to identify long-term idle resources and resources with heavy load, helping administrators make resource adjustment decisions in a timely manner.
That's all, thanks!
