Hi!

You can configure an alarm-triggered recording.
Recording Type
Function
Server-based scheduled recording
The MPU can record video in a user-defined time segment and store the recorded video to the server disk.
Server-based manual recording
You can manually record video during live video viewing and store the recorded video to the server disk.
Local Manual Recording
You can manually record video during live video viewing and store the recorded video to the PC where the C/S client is installed.
Alarm-triggered recording
An alarm (for example, motion detection alarm) triggers the MPU to record video. To use the alarm-triggered recording function, configure it first. For details, see Alarm Linkage.

For details, see Alarm Linkage.

To set the alarm triggering condition to Motion detected and Lens blocking, you need to configure motion detection and lens blocking detection by referring to Configuring Motion Detection on the VCN and Configuring Lens Blocking Detection respectively.

Configuring Motion Detection on the VCN

This section describes how to configure the motion detection function on the VCN.

Background

You can configure the motion detection function in the quick setting area or on the Devices tab page of the C/S client.

In the Cameras panel, select a camera for which you want to configure motion detection.

Select PU-based motion detection.

Set the parameters for motion detection. Table 1 describes the parameters.

Table 1.  Parameter description
Parameter
Description
Motion detection interval (s)
Interval for detecting object motions.
Motion detection sensitivity.
Sensitivity for detecting object motions.
Th value ranges from 1 to 5. A larger value indicates a higher sensitivity. A higher sensitivity indicates that the system can detect slight motions.
Alarm check interval (s)
Interval for detecting object motion alarms. If a motion is detected, the camera reports an alarm.
If an object keeps moving in the surveillance range of a camera, only one alarm is reported during each motion detection interval.

Click Add Area and adjust the detection area.

</ol>

Click Save.

Click OK.

</ol>

Configuration on the Devices Tab Page

1. Log in to the C/S client of the VCN as the admin user and double-click Devices.

2. Click the Local Domain tab.

3. Double-click the camera, and choose Video > Motion Detection.

4. Configure motion detection, as shown in Figure 2.
