REASONS WHY A GATEWAY NE GOES OFFLINE WHENEVER THERE IS A FIBER CUT

A GATEWAY NE on our  Backbone DWDM network goes offline whenever there is a fiber cut on our network and as well as all other NES go offline

This indicates that the interrupted fiber carries not only the communication link between the NE and the GNE but also the communication link between the NMS and the GNE.

Optimization solution:

It is recommended that the communication links from the NMS to the GNE use the external DCN mode.
