Reading or changing the Virtual Machine on eNSP

1977 0 1 0 0

This post is about reading or changing the Virtual Machine in eNSP (possible solution to error code:40).

I think that everybody that has used eNSP has had at one moment or another the infamous Error code 40. I personnaly have had this error appear for 3 times sometimes as a result of Windows updates and other times it has just appeared with no cause. As a small side note if changing or readding the Virtual Machine does not work you can always reinstall eNSP.

eNSP as the name suggests is a Enterprise Network Simulation Platform this means that eNSP uses the virtual images of diffrent network equipments to simulate a live network. These Images are saved on your computer and can be manipulated from VirtualBox.

Let’s take the AR_Base as an example. You can at any time right Click on it and select Remove. And when the Interrogation Windows appears please select Remove only,  which will only delete the files from the Virtual Box List. If you select Delete all files it will also delete the virtual image saved on your computer.

OK, so for the moment we have just removed the image from the Virtual Box List, now we have to add it again or add the Backup image.

Now you can go in the Machine Tab and select add (Or CTRL+A as a shortcut).

Now you will have to follow the following Patch C:\Program Files\Huawei\eNSP and you will find a folder called vboxserver.

And finally in this folder you can find folders with images of the equipment’s that present problems you can just enter in the Folder and add again the Virtual image or in the case of the AR and the WLAN you can add the Backup image directly.
