What is RAID 1E?
RAID 1E is an enhanced version of RAID 1. It is a private RAID level proposed by IBM and has not become an international standard. It is not a combination of RAID 0+1. The working principle of RAID 1E is basically the same as that of RAID 1. The only difference is that RAID 1E has a stronger data recovery capability. However, RAID 1E writes data at least twice, which increases the load of the RAID processor and reduces the disk read/write capability. RAID 1E requires at least three hard disks.
