Hello, everyone!

This is a case about the PXE function is disabled on the capacity expansion page, as a result, the PXE installation stops responding.


When a host is expanded at a site, the host where the PXE is installed stops responding, and the error message "You have to switch the auto-pxe on or permit the pxe request in Web-UI" is displayed on the BMC remote control page of the server.

The PXE function is not enabled on the CPS GUI. As a result, the PXE installation cannot continue.

Fault Locating

On the Openstack CPS page, enable the PXE function.

1. Log in to the OpenStack CPS portal, choose O&M > Capacity Expansion, and enable the PXE function.

2. Log in to the BMC remote control page of the server and check whether the PXE installation is successful.

Check After Restoration

The host is successfully expanded using PXE.

Impact and Risk Description

After the capacity expansion is complete, disable the PXE function to prevent other boards from being installed in PXE mode due to network configuration errors.
