Pushing Video to the Video Wall Through Huawei DEC6108 Decoders
You can add DEC6108 decoders and then push video to a video wall or cancel the push on the C/S client.
Creating a Video Wall Layout
- In the Service Operation panel on the left of the Workspace tab page, double-click Video Wall, as shown in Figure 1.Figure 1 Video Wall

- Add decoders. In the Decoder List panel on the Video Wall tab page, click
to access the Add Decoder page.
NOTE:A decoder can register with only one C/S client. Therefore, before adding a decoder to a C/S client, ensure that the decoder has not been added to other C/S clients. If the decoder has been added to another C/S client, the decoder cannot be added on this C/S client.
- Add decoders one by one, as shown in Figure 2.Figure 2 Adding one decoder

- Click
. - Enter the decoder name, IP address, and port number.
NOTE:- The decoder name must contain 1 to 30 characters and cannot contain the following characters: < > ' ; @ " $ * % ) \ / | ? --
- The default port number of the decoder is 9900.
- Repeat 2.a through 2.b to add multiple decoders.
- Enter the service user names and passwords for the decoders to register with the C/S client.
- If the service user names and passwords for different decoders to register with the C/S client are unique, enter the service user name and password next to each decoder separately and click Verify.
- If the service user names and passwords for different decoders to register with the C/S client are the same, enter the service user name and password at the bottom of the page and click Verify Batch.
If the verification status is
, verification succeeds.
- Click
- Add decoders in batches, as shown in Figure 3.Figure 3 Adding decoders in batches

- Click Export.
Open the decoders.CSV template and enter Name, IP, and Port and save the settings.
NOTE:- The decoder name must contain 1 to 30 characters and cannot contain the following characters: < > ' ; @ " $ * % ) \ / | ? --
- The default port number of the decoder is 9900.
- Click Import to import the decoder template.
- Click Export.
- Add decoders one by one, as shown in Figure 2.
- Optional: Configure a decoder, as shown in Figure 4.
NOTE:The DEC6108 supports eight HDMI output ports. The default output resolution of each HDMI port is 1080p by default. The 4-pane mode is used by default. To change the output resolution of the HDMI port or the window display mode, refer to the following steps to configure the decoder.
Figure 4 Configuring a decoder
- In the Decoder List panel, right-click a decoder and choose Configuration from the shortcut menu.
The Decoder Configuration page is displayed.
- Set Playing mode of the decoder.
The options are as follows:
- Image quality first: video with more cache but a high delay
- Network first: video with less cache and a low delay
- Set Output resolution, Window mode and Stream Type of each HDMI port.
- Output resolution: resolution of the video wall display.
- Window mode: video wall layout, which can be 1-, 4-, 8-, 9-, 16-, 25-, or 36-pane.
- Stream Type: The options are Unspecified, Primary stream, Secondary stream 1, and Secondary stream 2.
The streams automatically adapt to window modes. Table 1 describes the relationship between the number of video panes and adaptive stream resolutions.Table 1 Relationship between the number of video panes and adaptive stream resolutions Number of Video Panes

During live video viewing on the video wall, the actually requested video streams in different pane modes are determined by the resolution of camera streams.
- If the resolution of primary streams of a camera is less than or equal to the adaptive stream resolution in Table 1 in the selected pane, the actually requested streams are primary streams. For example, if the resolution of primary streams is 1080p and the adaptive stream resolution in 1- or 4-pane mode is 4K, the actually requested streams are 1080p primary streams.
- If the resolution of primary streams of a camera is greater than the adaptive stream resolution in Table 1 in the selected pane, the actually requested streams are secondary streams. For example, if the resolutions of primary streams and secondary streams are 4K and 1080p, respectively, and the adaptive stream resolution in 8-, 9-, or 16-pane mode is 1080p, then the resolution of primary streams is greater than that of the adaptive stream resolution, and the actually requested streams are 1080p secondary streams.
- Click OK.
- In the Decoder List panel, right-click a decoder and choose Configuration from the shortcut menu.
- In the Decoder List panel on the Video Wall tab page, you can view the new decoder and create video wall layouts, as shown in Figure 5.Figure 5 Creating a video wall layout
