Protection schemes supported by OSN 3500

OptiX OSN 3500 supports protection schemes at both the equipment and network levels.
Protection schemes at the equipment level include TPS protection for boards, 1+1 hot backup for cross-connect and timing units and for the system control and communication unit, Ethernet board protection, 1+1 protection for ATM boards, microwave board protection, 1+1 backup for power supply units, 1+1 protection for wavelength conversion units, smart fans, as well as 1:N protection for +3.3 V power supplies.
Protection schemes at the network level include linear MSP, ring MSP, SNCP, DNI protection, fiber-shared virtual path protection, optical-path-shared MSP, RPR protection, VP-Ring/VC-Ring protection, and ERPS.
