protecting PW into 3 paths using 1 : 1
Hello dear members ,
- Today I want to share a way of protecting PW into 3 paths using 1:1 protection .
Description
- We OSN 1800 type I in BTS or eNB sites and use OSN1800V as aggregation for services coming from BTS or eNB , as we still have 3G sites , so we still need CES to transfer TDM services in some places .
-we use MPLS-TP as the transmission technology to support PW , which allow for emulated Ethernet and TDM services .
-The protection of PW is usually depends on 1:1 mechanism which gives a 2 paths only , but in here , I want to show you how we can get 3 pathes using 1:1.
Steps :-
1- create 1+1 Tunnel

2- create or search for no protection tunnel that has the same source and sink .

3- Create APS- PW and make the main path of the PW in the free (un=protected) tunnel in here its ID is 114
and the protection tunnel for the APS-PW in the main protected tunnel (created in step 1) (here its ID is 430 ) .

When querying the related tunnels we find

4- If a problem happened in the 1st path (or switch command ) in the main Tunnel of the PW (here it is the unprotected Tunnel ID 114 ) , the APS PW will switch to the protection Tunnel , which is the ( Protected Tunnel and acts as the main , its ID is 430 ) .
As in the following picture , the PW is in switch state .

5- when other problem or cut happened in the 2nd path (Tunnel) which now carry the switched PW .
The protected Tunnel will switch and the PW will keep working .
As we see in the following pictures Tunnel will switch to the protection Tunnel . and no new alarm in the PW service .
