Hi, everyone!

Good day to you!

I had occurred a problem with the PTZ function of a VPC 6xx series camera. And now the problem is resolved.

The following is the solution that I what to share with you.

Handing process

The PTZ function is not working even using the remote control or the web interface Device control.

1. Checked the web interface and the camera VPC600 is present in the web interface of the VP9030 Help > Version.

2. The camera stream is present in the Maintenance > Device Control > Device Control.

3. Tested the remote control and the web interface  Maintenance > Device Control > Device Control to change the camera's view it's not moving. (left/right/up/down/zoom in/zoom out functions.)

4. Checked the cable connections in the VP9030 side and configuration:

  • The customer is using the DVI cable that is inserted into HD IN port 1, and the COM 2 port

    COM

  • In the VPC600 side, the customer is using the Accessorial cable and the COM OUT port.

    COM

The COM OUT port is used for cascading other cameras and the customer needed to connect to the COM IN:

COM

After this change, the PTZ function was working properly.

Root Cause

The PTZ function was not working properly because in the VPC600 side the port used was COM OUT and it should be the COM IN port.
